Simin Nikbin Meydani, D.V.M., Ph.D., is Director of the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University and Senior Scientist and Director of the Center’s Nutritional Immunology Laboratory. She is also Professor at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy and Professor of Immunology at Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University.

Dr. Meydani’s research examines the role of nutrition in the aging process and age-associated diseases; the biology of aging as it relates to immune and inflammatory responses; and the impact of nutrition on immune response and resistance to infectious diseases in developed and developing countries.  Dr. Meydani is President of the American Society for Nutrition.
