Lisa Shin, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Psychology in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University. Her research involves examining brain function and cognitive processing in patients with anxiety disorders, especially post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), using positron emission tomography (PET) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to study brain function while patients perform attention and memory tasks.
Professor Shin can speak about:
- The brain function mechanisms underlying PTSD
- Brain responses to traumatic events
- Neural mechanisms underlying the processing of emotional information such as facial expressions in healthy individuals.
