Colin Orians, Ph.D., is a professor of biology who specializes in herbivore-plant interactions, climate change, and invasive species. His current research focuses on the effects of herbivores (native and exotic) and climate change on the chemistry and performance of plants. Every year herbivores cause billions of dollars worth of damage to crops and trees. Our goal is to explore the chemical mechanisms that make plants more resistant to their enemies.
Professor Orians can speak about:
- Plant-herbivore interactions
- Ecological consequences of climate change
- Invasive species
