Bárbara M. Brizuela, Ed.D. is an associate professor of education and director of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program (STEM) Program in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University. Professor Brizuela has focused her current research on children’s learning of the notational number system, notational aspects of mathematics, a child’s learning of elementary mathematics, including early algebra.
