Sarah Pinto, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University. Her work is focused on medical anthropology, gender and feminist and social theory. Her geographic area of specialization is India; she is particularly interested in the stakes of mental illness for divorced or divorcing women in India and asks what these circumstances can tell us about the place of gender in framing culturally relevant ethical frameworks.
