Julie Dobrow, Ph. D., is the director of communications and media studies and a senior lecturer in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University.  Her research is focused on the content and effects of media on children, issues of gender and ethnicity in media and how children make sense of these images, as well as the intersection of history and communications studies.
