Gary Bedell, Ph. D., OTR/L, FAOTA, is an associate professor of occupational therapy in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University. His primary research examines participation of children and youth with disabilities in home, school and community life and child, family and environmental factors that support or hinder their participation. Social learning and ecological theories have informed his work. He is particularly interested in assessment and intervention approaches that identify and build upon what individuals already know and do to manage their daily life routines and participate in meaningful activities. Part of his research has involved developing measures to assess participation and environmental factors.
